A Hong Kong born Chinese, Eliza received her tertiary education in England. In summer 2011, she graduated from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco with an MFA in Painting.
Eliza has been painting since 1998. Having an upbringing in a traditional Chinese family, and a strong exposure to western cultures throughout her education and career development, her contemporary art carries a blend of eastern and western cultural influence. With solid foundational skills using various mediums, her bodies of art cover representational imagery to pure conceptual compositions and abstract expressionism.
Eliza has had solo exhibitions in Hong Kong and US. She also exhibits annually with an established art group consisting of a few established Hong Kong-based international artists; Eliza has been a member and Treasurer since 2002. She actively participates in various local community projects and artist-in-residency programs. In 2011 with the “Lines” series of her works, she was shortlisted for a New York based AIR program organized by the HKADC. A piece from the “Bubbles” series also got accepted into the juried competition and exhibition by Hong Kong Oil Painting Research Society. In 2015, an artwork from the “Snapshots” series won the Best in Show and First Place Oils at a juried art competition hosted by Focus Point Shape Gallery hosted in Houston US. Eliza does commissioned work for private collectors as well as corporations. Currently she lives in Hong Kong where she teaches private art classes.
